We Can Be Heroes

Join us for a high-energy, half-day camp where every child learns they have the power to make a difference.

Designed for children 3 years old by January 1st (and potty trained) through entering 6th grade, this exciting week helps kids discover that “superpowers” are not just for the movies — they are qualities we all possess to make our community and world a better place.

As followers of Jesus, we are striving to make God’s world more sustainable, peaceful, just, compassionate, and inclusive. Throughout this week, kids will see that courage, kindness, creativity, justice, and teamwork can change the world.

Camp at a Glance

At Dayspring, we want every child to know that they can make a difference. By celebrating a diverse range of heroes — with a special emphasis on strong role models and global leaders — we aim to show every child that no matter who they are, they have the power to be a hero in their own community.

A Heroic Week of Faith, Imagination, and Purpose

Throughout the week, we’ll explore the lives of iconic figures, blending fictional storytelling with the inspiring true stories of diverse leaders from around the globe. Each day features a hands-on craft and a thematic game that reinforces the day’s lesson.

The Values at the Heart of VBS

This week is more than entertainment — it is an invitation for children to imagine a better world and to recognize their role in helping build it.

Sustainable

We encourage children to care for the earth and its creatures, seeing creation as a gift worthy of love and protection.

Peaceful

Heroes help build peace. Dayspring invites children to practice kindness, courage, and peacemaking in the way of Jesus.

Just

We help kids explore what it means to stand up for what is right and seek fairness because every person is worthy of dignity, fairness, and care.

Compassionate

Compassion is a real superpower. We encourage children to notice the needs of others and respond with empathy, mercy, and love.

Inclusive

Every child belongs here. Dayspring celebrates that heroes come in all ages, backgrounds, and personalities, and everyone has gifts to share.

These values are central to Dayspring and to what it means to be a hero in our community. We believe children can follow the way of Jesus by caring for creation, making peace, seeking justice, showing compassion, and including others.
