Exploring Contemporary Issues Class
The Exploring Contemporary Issues Class came about when the Church moved from two worship services to one. Both the Explorers Class and the Contemporary Issues Class had a long history of service to Church members and friends (membership is not required, a curious mind probably is). Both Classes had stable leadership and a history of tackling a wide variety of topics: Bible Study, Biblical History, Church History, Theology, Christian Art, Biographies of Saints and Church Leaders (ancient and modern), Contemporary Issues affecting the Church, Mysticism, Mindfulness– well, you get the picture. One or the other of the Classes has probably dealt with most any topic you can think of. We’re always open to interesting suggestions.
We have several presenters throughout the year that runs from Labor Day to Memorial Sun. We usually take the Summer off. We cover topics usually in from one to four sessions. We sometimes invite outside experts to present and often base our presentations of books we’ve read, video resources we’ve found on the web, DVD’s or “Living the Questions” material we have from Pastor Jeff.
We have a 45 minute window (9.00-9.45) for a short presentation and discussion and questions of the topic. All are welcome. We hope you’ll be able to join us in-person in Palo Verde Room (except for 2nd Sunday when we meet in Room 112).
For those who cannot join us in-person a ZOOM link is usually available. If you have any questions about the Class, please email Mark.
