Dear Dayspring Family,
I’d like to introduce you to Lasagna Love!
Lasagna Love was started at the beginning of the pandemic when the founder, Rhiannon Menn, was looking for a way to help moms in her community. She and her toddler started making and delivering lasagnas to neighborhood families who were struggling, whether that struggle was financial, emotional, or they were simply feeling overwhelmed. Amazingly, this small act of kindness turned into something much bigger, quickly!
Lasagna Love is now a global nonprofit and grassroots movement that aims to positively impact communities by connecting neighbors through gestures of kindness and support. We aim not only to help address the incredible rise in food insecurity among families but also to provide a simple act of love and kindness during a time full of uncertainty and stress. We also seek to eliminate stigmas associated with asking for help when it is needed most. We now have over 56,000 volunteers in all 50 states, Canada and Australia! We have delivered more than 500,000 meals and have impacted 2,000,000+ individuals. Our mission is simple: feed families, spread kindness, and strengthen communities.
Families in need, whether it be financial, emotional or health related, can request a meal on the website and within a week or two, a Lasagna Love volunteer in the area will deliver a complimentary homemade meal in a contactless way with kindness and care.
Lasagna Love is represented by a global collection of volunteers from all walks of life, diverse ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds who have bonded together in an effort to weave kindness back into the fabric of our communities. At the very core of Lasagna Love rests a mission of goodwill; simple acts of love and kindness from one human to another.
At this time, Dayspring’s Lasagna Love team is looking for volunteers to prep, assemble, cook, and deliver lasagnas to families in the hyperlocal community. Younger volunteers are also needed to make cards for the recipient families. We plan to begin cooking in January! For more information, email Chelsie.
With the help of Dayspring, we can truly spread some kindness and Lasagna Love in our area.
